Arise - Behavioural Insights Team
Designed a mental health app grounded in behavioural science and insights from the UK government. The goal was to embed the 'Five Ways to Well-being'—a proven framework for improving mental and emotional health—into a digital product. With no existing app effectively incorporating these principles, this project aimed to fill a critical gap in the market and create a more engaging, evidence-based user experience.

Solution
The solution focused on effectively targeting all Five Ways to Well-being, resulting in an effortless and engaging user journey. By seamlessly integrating these principles into the app, users could easily access tools and resources to support their mental and emotional health. This was achieved through a modern, user-friendly UI design, the strategic use of customer data to enable hyper-personalisation, a reimagined information architecture to improve navigation and content flow, and detailed analysis of common user journeys and scenarios to ensure relevance and accessibility.
Summary
Applying the Behavioural Insights Team's research to design a well-being app centred on the five ways to well-being. Whilst using user research and a structured UX framework, I created a hyper-personalised UI with features like a plant-sharing heat map, customisable profiles, plant summaries, and community chats to encourage connection and learning among gardeners. User testing validated the design, emphasising the importance of visible social features and improved search options.
