Challenge
The Behavioural Insights Team sought to integrate the "Five Ways to Well-being" framework into a mental health app tailored for gardeners. However, no existing app has applied these well-being principles in a way that engages users effectively. This gap presented a unique challenge: creating a digital experience that combined behavioural science with an intuitive and supportive user interface.
Goal
The goal was to design a mental health app that seamlessly incorporated all five ways to well-being—Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning, and Give—into a cohesive, engaging, and accessible user journey. The app needed to provide gardeners with personalised tools and resources that would improve their mental and emotional health, all within a modern, easy-to-use interface.
Result
The integration of the five ways to well-being created a seamless, engaging experience for gardeners. The app's modern UI, hyper-personalised content, and improved information architecture made it easy for users to access mental health tools, leading to increased user satisfaction and engagement.
